Battle of the Border Itinerary – Sat Oct 21

Hello Parents and Band members,

Below, I have attached the itinerary for our trip Saturday October 21st-22nd please be advised that this functions as any other school event under the rules set by Nassau County School District. NO STUDENTS will be able to go ANYWHERE alone, and the buddy system will be in place. The required number of staff and chaperones by the school board will be in place, and actively deployed evenly among the students as well. During the stay at the hotel, boys and girls will be separated by floor and curfew will be 30 minutes after check in. During the entire trip no boys will be allowed to sit with girls on the bus, just like any other band trip. Saturday, Oct 21

7:30 a.m. – Report Time/ Load Uniforms, Equipment, Instruments, Luggage

8:15 a.m. – Roll taken on buses, Depart for Lowndes H.S.

10:30 a.m. -11:00 a.m. – Arrival/ Unload Bus/ Restroom Breaks

11:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. – Observe bands/ Eat

12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Get dressed/ Head to Warm-ups

1:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. – Warm-up

1:45 p.m. – 1:55 p.m. – Walk to holding tunnel

2:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. – Perform

2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Observe bands/ Eat / preliminary awards  

(The Finals begin at 7:00 p.m., depending on our place in prelims, if we perform in finals we will eat at their concessions, warm up perform and stay for awards, if we do not make finals we will eat at their concessions and observe the bands that made finals)

9:30 p.m. – Lowndes H.S. exhibition and Final Awards/ depart for hotel

10:00 p.m. – arrive at hotel check in

10:30 p.m. – Lights out/ curfew

 

Sunday, Oct 22

9:00 a.m. – Breakfast at hotel

10:00- check out/ load up/ roll taken

10:15- depart for wild adventures

11:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Have fun in Wild Adventures park (Lunch is NOT included)

6:15 p.m. – load bus/ take roll/ depart from park

6:30-10:00 p.m. – Stop for dinner/ return to YHS

10:15 p.m. – unload equipment/ dismiss

The cost for the trip is $60 perstudemt, to cover their stay and ticket to wild adventures. I will be taking up either all or half of this on 10/6, and the next half on 10/18. If there are any concerns or issue with this amount please let me know.
